The billionaire Koch brothers plan to spend close to $400,000,000.00 in 2018 to elect Republicans, like Greg Walden. The Koch brothers are not spending this mountain of cash because they are altruistic or because they are seeking better government. They are spending it for one reason only and that is to ensure that they (the Koch brothers) will have the loudest voice in Washington. If they are successful, our voices will be drowned out and we will lose.
Unlike Greg Walden who wants to give the loudest voice to the Koch brothers and his many out-of-state, large dollar, corporate contributors. As evidenced by Walden’s unwavering support last spring for a health care plan that would have caused more than 64,000 of our friends and neighbors to lose their health insurance and his support to get rid of Net Neutrality. I want to give the loudest voice in Washington to you, the people.
When I go to Washington, I am going to only represent you, the people of Congressional District 2.
My signature issue is Campaign finance reform which is admittedly about as unsexy an issue as I could dredge up. But while totally lacking in sex appeal, campaign finance reform is absolutely necessary if the voice of the people, our voices, are ever going to be the loudest voice in Washington.
Keeping our current system is the perfect example of what Albert Einstein meant when he defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result.
Let’s stop the insanity by “repealing and replacing” Greg Walden, the first step is voting May 15th.
