Greg Walden Misses the Mark Dealing with the Opioid Epidemic.
We are in the midst of the worst drug epidemic in American history. It is a scourge that over the last two decades has claimed more than 200,000 lives. It is a plague that kills more than 140 Americans every day. For purposes of comparison, 2,980 people died on 9-11. So, every 22 days more Americans […]

I am excited to be in Hermiston tonight speaking to the American Legions and the Umatilla County Veterans! What a great opportunity to speak with veterans about the issues they face, and what they would like to see change in Congress. Thank you for your service!
This morning I met with Hermiston’s city manager and chief of police. I told them that I just wanted to listen to what they would like to see from the Federal government. What I heard was more money for infrastructure repair and maintenance and more grant money to the states (so the states disburse it) because applying for a federal grant is way too complicated. We also talked about how the police have been delegated as the agency to deal with homelessness and the mentally ill and that they are not the best agency to address those problems. I would look forward to working with these folks and other local officials in CD 2 to make CD 2 an even better place to live. -Jim
VOICE TO THE PEOPLE Video Series - Campaign Finance Reform Medicare For All, encouraging renewable energy for the health of our planet, saving Social Security from insolvency...these are just a sample of the issues that the American public has spoken clearly on, yet Washington DC does not seem to be hearing them. Big Corporate Money in politics seems to be powerful earplugs. Once we remove, or neutralize the effect of, super-rich, corporate special interests, we can give a VOICE TO THE PEOPLE on all these vital issues. This is also why I have made the pledge to raise the money necessary for my campaign from only individual donors, and not the super-rich corporations. You can see my detailed plans on my website… https://crary4congress.com/issue/campaign-finance-reform/ https://crary4congress.com/issue/campaign-finance-reform/beat-citizens-united-brief/
When I ran against Greg Walden in 2016 I received 106,640 votes and I also learned a great deal! Two of my biggest takeaways from my 2016 race are that, to win, I need both a really good team and considerable financial support. This time around I have the team that is helping me spread the world on how we are going to give a VOICE TO THE PEOPLE of Oregon's Congressional District 2. And, with the political winds at our back (as evidenced by the election results in Virginia, New Jersey and Maine), I firmly believe we will win in 2018! I am committed to raising the substantial amount of money required to win in today's political world but, I am also committed to doing it without selling out to the corporate special interests. To that end, I am raising money, but only from individuals, because, unlike Greg Walden, I am only going to give a voice to the people in Congressional District 2, not the corporations and special interests who make large dollar contributions to his campaign (See: https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/contributors?cid=N00007690&cycle=2018). If everyone who voted for me last November would just contribute $10 we would raise $1,066,400! With that amount of financing we will “Repeal and replace” Greg Walden next November! So please, take a minute and send a check to: “Crary for Congress,” 14393 Highway 66, Ashland, Oregon 97520. Please make sure that you include your name, address, occupation and employer. And remember, you have to be a citizen or a green card holder to donate.
